The German-language volume "Jugendliche und die Aneignung politischer Information in Online-Medien" authored by Ulrike Wagner and Christa Gebel has been published by Springer/VS

Retreiving and commenting on the latest news, forwarding interesting news items, inviting to a demonstration on Facebook: Online media open up a broad spectrum of opportunities for action when it comes to young people's ways of dealing with politically relevant information. The results of this study present a quantitative overview inhowfar and how intensively 12- to 19-year-olds use these opportunities. Moreover, qualitative case studies with politically interested young people show, to which extend and in which ways they utilize and evaluate the information-related opportunities for action. The authors discuss the results in connection with today's demands towards young people's media literacy in the light of the mediatization of social and political participation.
