About the book

Mediatization research is concerned with questions of how everyday life and institutions, culture and society are changing because more and more people are increasingly acting and communicating with and in relation to media. The concept of mediatized social worlds provides an empirical approach towards these processes. Researchers of different disciplines work together in the priority research program "Mediatized Worlds" funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation) to describe and theoretically conceive these developments. This edited volume addresses overarching theoretical considerations that derive from the transdisciplinary collaboration.
