Researching Processes of Mediatization Empirically: Methodological Tools to Analyze 'Change'

24.09.2013

Priority program „Mediatized Worlds“-workshop on methods offered many new insights and inspired further discussion

On September 19th and 20th, 2013 the DFG priority program "Mediatized Worlds" arranged a workshop on methods which was hosted and organized by Jutta Röser and Kathrin Friederike Müller (project The Mediatized Home II) at the University of Münster. Central topic was the research of 'change', meaning the interrelations between changes of media and communication and cultural and social change, which is an important aspect of all "Mediatized Worlds"-projects. Members of the priority program presented and discussed different ways and methods to gather data and analyze processes and dynamics of change connected to mediatization, but also addressed research gaps and requests for further investigation.

Highly inspiring presentations, the fruitful discussions, and the perfect organization as well as a pleasant atmosphere made the workshop a complete success.
